ਕਊਆ ਕਾਗ ਕਉ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਰਸੁ ਪਾਈਐ ਤ੍ਰਿਪਤੈ ਵਿਸਟਾ ਖਾਇ ਮੁਖਿ ਗੋਹੈ ॥
ਕਾਂ ਅੱਗੇ ਕੋਈ ਸੁਆਦਲਾ ਭੋਜਨ ਰੱਖੀਏ (ਤਾਂ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਖਾਣ ਦੇ ਥਾਂ)
ਉਹ ਵਿਸ਼ਟਾ (ਗੂੰਹ) ਖਾ ਕੇ, ਵਿਸ਼ਟਾ ਮੂੰਹ ਵਿਚ ਪਾ ਕੇ ਖ਼ੁਸ਼ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ।

ਠੰਢੇ ਖੂਹਹੁੰ ਨ੍ਹਾਇ ਕੈ ਪਗ ਵਿਸਾਰਿ ਆਇਆ ਸਿਰਿ ਨੰਗੈ।
Having taken bath on the well, a person forgot his turban and returned home bare headed.

ਘਰ ਵਿਚਿ ਰੰਨਾ ਕਮਲੀਆਂ ਧੁਸੀ ਲੀਤੀ ਦੇਖਿ ਕੁਢੰਗੈ।
Seeing his improper conduct (of being bare headed) the silly women started weeping and wailing (Seeing turbanless master of the house they conjectured the death of some one in the family).

ਲੋਕ ਸਿਆਪੇ ਆਇਆ ਰੰਨਾ ਪੁਰਸ ਜੁੜੇ ਲੈ ਪੰਗੈ।
Seeing the weeping women, others too, began mourning. People gethered and sitting in lines started condoling with the family.

ਨਾਇਣ ਪੁਛਦੀ ਪਿਟਦੀਆਂ ਕਿਸ ਦੈ ਨਾਇ ਅਲ੍ਹਾਣੀ ਅੰਗੈ।
The daughter-in-law of family hinted towards father-in-law to elicit answer of this question (because he was found bare headed)

ਸਹੁਰੇ ਪੁਛਹ ਜਾਇ ਕੈ ਕਉਣ ਮੁਆ ਨੂਹ ਉਤਰੁ ਮੰਗੈ।
Then the fact was disclosed by him that he just forgot to wear turban).

ਕਾਵਾਂ ਰੌਲਾ ਮੂਰਖੁ ਸੰਗੈ ॥੧੯॥
In the assembly of the fools such cawing takes place (because crows also listening to one voice start cawing jointly).

ਨੋਟ: ਇਹ ਭਾਈ ਗੁਰਦਾਸ ਜੀ ਦੇ ਬੋਲ ਕਿਸੇ ਵਿਅਕਤੀ ਵਿਸ਼ੇਸ਼ ਲਈ ਨਹੀਂ ਹਨ, ਸਾਰੀ ਮਨੁੱਖਤਾ ਲਈ ਹਨ, ਸਾਡੇ ਲਈ ਹਨ, ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਲਈ ਹਨ। ਜਿਹੜੇ ਲੋਕ ਇਸਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ 'ਤੇ ਲਗਾ ਵੇਖ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ, ਅੰਦਰੋਂ ਕੁੜ੍ਹ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਝਾਤੀ ਮਾਰਕੇ ਵੇਖਣ ਅਤੇ ਬਾਬਾ ਫਰੀਦ ਦਾ ਇਹ ਫੁਰਮਾਨ ਪੜ੍ਹ ਲੈਣ "ਫਰੀਦਾ ਜੇ ਤੂ ਅਕਲਿ ਲਤੀਫੁ ਕਾਲੇ ਲਿਖੁ ਨ ਲੇਖ ॥ ਆਪਨੜੇ ਗਿਰੀਵਾਨ ਮਹਿ ਸਿਰੁ ਨੀਵਾਂ ਕਰਿ ਦੇਖੁ ॥" ਜਿਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਵਾਈ ਤਾਂ ਖਾਦੀ ਮੂੰਹ ਥਾਣੀ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ, ਪਰ ਅਸਰ ਉਥੇ ਕਰਦੀ ਹੈ, ਜਿਥੇ ਦਰਦ ਹੋਵੇ, ਤਕਲੀਫ ਹੋਵੇ। ਤੇ ਜੇ ਗੁਰਬਾਣੀ ਦੇ ਇਹ ਬੋਲ ਕਿਸੇ ਨੂੰ ਤਕਲੀਫ ਦੇ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ, ਤਾਂ ਸਮਝ ਲੈਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਕਿਤੇ ਨਾ ਕਿਤੇ ਬਿਮਾਰੀ ਦਾ ਸ਼ਿਕਾਰ ਹਨ।
