Remand extended:
The chief metropolitan magistrate, Kanpur Nagar, on Thursday,
extended the judicial remand of former MLC, Kuldeep Singh and
fixed the next date of hearing as July 8 for his appearance before
the court.
The former MLC
was accused in a criminal case recorded under section
419/420/467/468/470/504 of IPC at Kaka Dev police station. The
complainant, Ajay Sonkar had set up a construction company styled
as Swati Construction Company in which Kuldeep Singh had a stake
of 42 per cent. A power of attorney was given by Kuldeep Singh in
favour of Ajay Sonkar in which flat selling rights had been given
to Sonkar and that power of attorney was submitted at KDA.
The accused MLC
allegedly scanned the power of attorney and changed the contents
of Para 6 by inserting a word `no'. In changed provision, selling
rights were not with the builder. When Sonkar came to know about
this manipulation, he lodged an FIR against his partner. The
forensic report confirmed that power of attorney was manipulated.
The word `no' was inserted from a different printing machine.
The former MLC is
presently in jail and his bail application is pending before the
high court.
