Fake voters being enrolled for SGPC polls
“The Punjab government, Gurdwara Election Commission and Shiromani Aklai Dal (Badal)
is hand-in-glove and fake voters have been created for the forthcoming Shiromani
Gurdwara Parbhandak Committee (SGPC) elections,” alleged SAD (1920) president
Ravi Inder Singh. Addressing the media here on Thursday, Ravi Inder said 36 lakh
voters had been enrolled by the government in the last 12 days for the SGPC
elections, and before that only 20 lakh were enrolled. “Many of these voters are
not Sikhs as prescribed by the definition of Sikhs.
We have instances to prove that the voters enrolled included
Hindus and Muslims. Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal is going all the way to
win these elections by hook or crook,” he alleged. Demanding cancellation of the
voter lists, Ravi Inder said fresh lists should be made and the voters asked to
carry identity cards while exercising their franchise.
